Very nice place. Has a nice walking trail.
A quiet rest area with lots of amenities. Includes a Missouri information center (with free maps during business hours), very clean bathrooms, vending machines, beautiful wall murals. My children enjoy running around in the small playground area while mom and dad stroll along the paved walking paths near the covered picnic tables.
Exceptional in creating a safe comfortable environment in a beautiful park setting. Clean facility, inside & out. Good Missouri information area inside.outside Play area for children. Well groomed lawn with plenty of covered picnic tables/benches. Ample smooth paved parking for all vehicles. Peaceful songbirds help to eliminate the highway noises and stress. I believe tax money is well spent on this location. I would support more of these along our interstate system in the State of Missouri.
Clean and inviting. The mural is really something to see.
I want to say that you have a very nice, beautiful rest stop here. I graded it highly, as it should be. The metal sculptures in the prairie are beautiful & my daughters took several pictures there. The facility is clean, brochures are plentiful, and at my mention of University of Kansas being my destination, was offered a map of Kansas as well! The grounds are beautiful, and spacious. There is plenty of room to stroll, let the kids run loose and burn off energy. Take a walk up to the metal sculptures behind the facility for a perfect photo op!! Welcome to Missouri!!
I especially want to mention the true gem I found during my stop. The young lady hosting the information counter has a true welcoming spirit. Unfortunately I did not get her name. She was my first impression of Missouri, and is my lasting impression of Missouri. I so wanted to be able to stop again on my way north, unfortunately I wasn't sure how to get back over there easily. Thank you for having a beautiful facility to stop at, and a beautiful, kind, & friendly person as one of its many caretakers!!! Kudos to you Missouri!
On the other side of the parking lot is a dog area with a mowed walking trail to see the large sculptures up close. My family enjoys stopping at “Buffalo Rest Stop” on long car rides.
